Chef and TV host Lamees Attar-Bashi has brought the flavors of Arabia to your table in Middle Eastern Delights. In this cookbook, you will find everything from flatbreads, cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, puddings, and ice cream to chai. The recipes come from all over the Middle East, with Lamees noting the slight differences depending on the area. If you enjoy food from the Middle East as much as I do, then you will love being able to prepare these recipes at home.
So far, I have made the Cheese Manakeesh Flatbread, the Sponge Cake with Pomegranate Glaze and the Baklawa Cheesecake. Both the flatbread and the sponge cake came out perfectly and looked like the picture. My only criticism would be for the cheesecake. Lamees has you make honey syrup but never mentions it again in the recipe, so you have no idea when to put it on the cake. Other than the cheesecake, the recipes are easy to follow.
The food all tastes delicious and reminds me of my time in Morocco. I highly recommend this to food lovers everywhere and I look forward to making more treats.
